How do you know when it’s time to change? If you conform to a habitual stance; safely nestled in all you used to be without even trying to understand that there is more to you and more to life. Can you say that you’ve even been living life? That you have been breathing in a sigh of relief for all that can from you with strength and determination.
How can you ever push yourself but not with force; but with a sense of adventure to explore all that you are without the opinions of other people guiding your way.
How can you learn to uncover latent dormant talents buried deep inside you, if you allow yourself to constantly be covered by obligation, doubt and indecision.
The time for change is when you start fighting with the old, when the old no longer applies, when it’s all out lived it’s usefulness and you stand apart from it seemingly, whilst trying to make it work for you and it doesn’t.
If you pay attention this part of life is another like trying to fit your favorite pair of jeans that no longer fit. You struggle with them. You hold on to them tighter and tighter. You jump up and down trying to make it work. But alas it doesn’t. You have out grown them. Or the favorite tool you use that had a personality of its own. The hammer or wrench that needs help being a hammer or wrench. It’s more work to use it. And you use it because you always have. It’s your tried and true.
But now it’s cumbersome and a bother and now your teased everything you use it. And not that that matters but that’s the whole experience of your tool.
But then Christmas times comes or a birthday and you are presented with another tool of the same kind. But brand to. It always reminds you of what you old tool used to be like or feel like in your hand, but it’s lost all of its thunder. Lost all of its juice. And using anything out of convenience no longer makes sense. And nor should it. That’s when you know it’s time to change. When you can move away from convenient living into something that is more practical and purposeful than that which is used just because it’s there, or you really really want it to work.
Sometimes it’s just time to say good-bye.
