A Baha’i Perspective on Ascension, Enlightenment, High Vibration

The following is my understanding of this topic from my personal study of the Baha’i Writings.

From an altruistic perspective, Ascension, Enlightenment, and High Vibration maybe consider it to be synonymous, or have similar meaning.

In short, it is a state of mind. The mind operates the brain and the brain operates the physical body in the form of actions. 

The bodily actions can be in the form of vocal, gesture, composure, or physical movement. These are the physical and visible characteristics that reveal the state of the mind.

The character, actions, and behavior of an ascended, enlightened mind in high Vibration conforms to ethical, moral and spiritual values. In human language, these values can be referred to as virtues — more precisely, divine virtues. 

Among ethical, moral and spiritual qualities we can find honesty, trustworthiness, being free of prejudice, fairness, justice, love, selflessness, patience, reverence, kindness, generosity, respectfulness, wisdom, discernment, integrity and many others. All of these qualities are manifestations of the Divine — the loving Creator of all there is, visible and invisible. 

In short an individual who’s behavior and character conforms to these virtuous qualities is literally manifesting God’s qualities. Thereby, it can be said that he or she is truly of the image of God. 

Such an individual can easily be considered to be an ascended, enlightened and a spiritual person. 

The following quotes from Baha’i Writings relate to this topic.

O SON OF SPIRIT! 

Thou art My lamp and My light is in thee. Get thou from it thy radiance…

With the hands of power I made thee. With the fingers of strength I created thee; and within thee have I placed the essence of My light. 

Noble I made thee. Out of the essence of knowledge I gave thee being. Out of the clay of love I molded thee. Turn thy sight unto thyself, that thou mayest find Me standing within thee, mighty, powerful and self-subsisting.
