Hi All,

This week, the angels continue with their discussion of energy as an investment, and specifically how we can invest our energy wisely when around challenging people.  I’ll share how this perspective makes more sense of some past relationships, how we can use it moving forward to avoid turning people into projects, and how we can develop the self-love and discernment that allow us to stay in or leave relationships without abandoning our own loving nature.

Have a blessed & beautiful week 🙂
Ann

My dear friends, we love you so very much,

Last week, we talked about becoming more aware of how you invest your energy so you begin to see why you have certain “returns.”
Today, we’re going to continue using this metaphor as it applies to how you deal with people who seem to get in the way of what you want to experience.

Suppose you want to invest your money in a company that makes a product you enjoy. You make the investment. You enjoy the returns. But then, one day, you find that the company management has changed. You don’t agree with the new management. You don’t enjoy the new direction. You can now continue to invest in something that no longer resonates with you if you feel the investment is worthwhile, or you can withdraw your funds and invest in something that feels more compatible.

Likewise, you invest your time, attention, and energy into various relationships in your life. Some of them are worth any energy invested. You may love your frustrating spouse, family member, or child so much that you are willing to change your thoughts, your actions, and your energy to invest in them more wisely! You may decide to stop focusing on their flaws and try investing in a focus on their good qualities. You might invest in a more humorous vibration. You might invest in thoughts of seeing them happy and fulfilled, coupled with thoughts that you don’t have to control the path. In any case, when a relationship matters, you can consider how you are investing your energy in it and whether or not the energy you invest in it is how you want to feel, which can be the “return.”

You all know from being on the receiving end of someone else’s concern or disapproval that you dislike those energies and will try to avoid them at all costs! Likewise, if you exhibit an investment in disapproval, worry, or concern about a loved one, they might try to avoid you. However, if someone believes in you, supports you, and you feel their approval of your good qualities, you will often want to be around them and do your best to show them your best. You’ll give them a better “return” on their positive energetic investment in you. Likewise, your dear ones will usually give you a better return on your positive energetic investment in them.

For example, suppose you have a grown child who doesn’t know what they want to do with their life. You can invest in worrying, aggressive suggestions, and disapproving ultimatums, and the return on these energetic investments in the relationship is usually a closed door and a closed mind—typically coupled with a diminished sense of self-worth and personal power. Your intentions are good. You love your child. But these negative energetic investments don’t give either of you a return that you want.

Far better to focus on the good qualities of this child. You love them. They are friendly, resourceful, talented, and, as you already s*****t, when they find their inner compass and figure out a direction, they’ll be fine. Believe in them. Speak blessings over them. “I know you. When you figure out something you love, even if it’s not conventional, you’ll be a huge success. You be you. You’ll figure it out!” This positive investment will help them see themselves differently and bring a better “return.”

Or suppose you believe in them but don’t want them living at home anymore. A positive investment might be, “I love you and believe in you so much that we’re going to help you move out on this date. I’ll help you get set up in a new place for the first month, and then I know you can manage it. We’re looking at apartments next weekend unless you have a better time.” This is not an ultimatum. It is a boundary you are setting with love, positive anticipation, and faith in this soul’s ability to navigate life. It is a positive investment that will have a better return than simply keeping them at home while brewing frustration and resentment.

The more faith you have in a person, the better your investment in supporting their positive future.

Likewise, what do you do with difficult people? There may be some in your life whom you don’t really care about keeping. In that case, withdraw your energy and invest in better relationships!

If you live with an adversarial person or must work with one, you can still find ways to “invest wisely.” Listen rather than argue. Acknowledge their perspectives. Offer your ideas as thoughts to consider rather than statements of fact. If you need help, seek help online or find a good therapist who can guide you in kind ways to deal with them that honor yourself as well.

There is no one “right” investment strategy when it comes to the people in your life. Some are worth the long-term work to you, and others are not. As always, you get to decide where to focus your energy and, therefore, what returns you will receive.

You may not change another person with your positive energy, but you may just influence them. In the worst case, you can allow them whatever investments and returns they choose for themselves, while allowing yourself the returns that come from being a self-loving, primarily positive, wise energetic investor!

God Bless You! We love you so very much.
