Flowing with Divine Love: Discovering Your True Nature as a Mountain Stream

In our fast-paced, modern world, it is easy to feel disconnected from our spiritual roots. We often find ourselves chasing happiness, trying to “gain” love, or struggling to understand why we experience hardship. However, ancient wisdom and spiritual insights, such as those found in the Heavenletters series, suggest that our true nature is far simpler and more beautiful than we realize. By understanding the concept of “Divine Flow,” we can shift our perspective from one of struggle to one of effortless grace.

One of the most profound realizations in a spiritual journey is the understanding that we are conduits for a higher power. When we experience joy or receive the many gifts life has to offer, it is helpful to remember that we are part of a circular energy. As the Source provides, we act as the “accepters,” but the essence of that gift returns to the Source.

This perspective shifts the ego away from ownership. Instead of seeing ourselves as isolated islands accumulating possessions or accolades, we see ourselves as a vital part of a grander design. In this state of being, the Giver and the Receiver are one. This realization helps dissolve the boundaries of the “self” and connects us to the universal whole.

A common question for many seekers is the origin of pain and suffering. According to spiritual philosophy, pain is not something inflicted upon us by a higher power; rather, it is often a “man-made” interpretation. When we view life through a lens of lack, rights, or wrongs, we create the conditions for emotional or spiritual discomfort.

Pain is frequently described as a contraction or a “damming up” of our natural energy. Just as a river feels pressure when its path is blocked, we feel pain when we resist the natural flow of life. When we hold onto grievances or misinterpret the actions of others, we essentially block our own freedom. By shifting our perspective and returning to a state of “beingness,” we can begin to release these obstructions and allow our natural joy to surface once more.

Perhaps the most beautiful way to visualize our true nature is through the metaphor of a mountain stream. A stream does not deliberate on its direction; it does not worry about the sun drying it up, nor does it seek to “gain” more water. It simply is. It flows impartially, reflecting the light of the sun and providing joy to anyone who splashes in its waters.

We are, in essence, that mountain stream. The same vitality and love that move through the universe move through us. The difficulty arises when we stop identifying with the whole stream and start focusing on a single “splash” or a “trickle.” When we get c****t up in the minutiae of daily problems or small setbacks, we lose sight of the vast, powerful flow that defines us. To return to peace, we must remember that our nature is to flow, not to accumulate.

In a society that prizes ambition and “getting ahead,” the concept of “beingness” can feel foreign. Yet, beingness is where our true power lies. Beingness doesn’t race from one thought to another; it mirrors the neutrality and grace of nature. It accepts the shore it touches and then flows onward without attachment.

True joy and love are not “highs” that we must chase or achieve. They are our natural state. When we stop trying to “gain” love and instead focus on “flowing” love, we find that we are never lacking. Like the stream, we don’t need to find our Source—the Source is what we are made of, and it has never left our side.

The journey Toward inner peace is not about changing who you are, but about remembering what you have always been. You are a manifestation of divine love, designed to move through life with the same ease as water over stones.

By releasing the “dams” of misinterpretation and ego, you allow your life to expand into joy and peace. Remember: you do not have to try to be the stream; you already are. Simply let go, embrace the present moment, and let the love flow from the Source, through you, and back to the world.

God said:

When you are pleased with what life offers you, remember that I am the Source of it and that it is given to Me. I give to Myself generously through you. You are the accepter, but I am the Receiver. I am the Giver as well. All is given to Me. All is from Me and to Me.

What about pain, you ask?

I do not give Myself pain. I do not know pain. Pain is man-made, and pain is an interpretation. Misguided interpretation made by man causes pain. When a man, because of his perspective and thinking, inflicts pain on another, he has inflicted it on himself. He does not understand this, and so you see how far away from awareness an inflictor of pain is. He thinks he inflicts it on another.

You think so too.

If it were not for your physical existence, you would not conceive of pain. You would not know possessions or rights or wrongs. You would know beingness. Even with your physical body and misinterpretations of life, you know beingness, and you can know it more.

Beingness has no ideas. It doesn’t race from one thought to another. It does not think at all. It is like a fresh mountain stream. A mountain stream, like beingness, is resplendent with what it is made of, and then it flows in waves impartially, neutrally, without investment. It only knows itself. It does not deliberate, and it is not deliberate. It is itself that flows. That it sparkles and where it streams is incidental. It does not get c****t up in itself. It is itself. It reflects itself. It follows its nature one-hundred per cent.

It does not combat the sun. It does not see the sun as something that may dry it up. It sees the sun as the light of itself and laughs with the sun. The mountain stream doesn’t mind if Humans wade in it or swim in it and splash it. It is joy, and it gives joy. And if no one splashes in it, its joy is the same.

You do not have to try to emulate a mountain stream, for you are the mountain stream. The same vitality flows through you. But what has happened is that you started to pay more attention to a particular splash of yourself and not so much to the pure nature of yourself. You wended off-stream. You trickled here and there, and considered yourself a trickle rather than the mountain stream that you are.

A mountain stream flows My love. You flow My love. It is that simple.

Man may dam up mountain streams and deflect them for a while. He may also dam up himself, and he is deflected for a while. Whatever man does is temporary. Whatever obstruction he manifests, he does not change the nature of life. The nature of life is to flow, and flow it will.

When flow is blocked, you feel it as pain, physical, emotional. Something is blocked. Your freedom is restrained. Freedom is the same as flow. The contraction of flow you call pain. The expansion, you call joy or love or peace. Not excitement, just pure joy and love, which equate to peace.

There is no torment in pure joy and love. Joy and love are not highs. Your ambition is not to gain joy and gain love. Your true nature is to give it. The question is not how much you gain. It is that you flow. You do not encumber.

When something flows, it does not stop and accumulate. It does not stand still and hold on to the shore. It embraces the shore and flows on. It does not avoid the shore and try to skip it. It flows freely and fully. It flows from Me to Me.

You are like a mountain stream. The difference is the mountain stream knows itself, which is the same as knowing its source. You, however, rush to find yourself when the Source which issued you never left your side.
