The Art of Allowing: How Universal Expansion and Eternal Perspective Can Transform Your Life

In a world driven by productivity hacks, endless “to-do” lists, and the constant pressure to achieve, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the weight of existence. We often carry the burden of believing that the state of the world rests solely on our shoulders. However, a profound perspective shared during a gathering in Boston in 2000 invites us to reconsider our role in the cosmos. By looking back at the “beasts” that preceded us and understanding the mechanics of universal expansion, we can find a sense of relief and a renewed permission to enjoy the journey of life.

The foundation of our current existence was laid long before modern human consciousness began documenting its progress. The creatures that inhabited this planet before us did not operate from a place of intellectualized stress; they did not maintain journals or organize their days into manageable tasks. Instead, they existed in a state of pure “being.” Through their simple interactions with their environment, they experienced preferences at a cellular level. When they encountered discomfort, a vibrational “ask” for something better was born. This natural response to their environment is what literally prepared the atmosphere and the physical reality we enjoy today. Their willingness to experience the “contrast” of life—the distinction between what is wanted and what is not—was the engine that drove the expansion of the Universe.

This concept of contrast is central to understanding our purpose. Many of us view challenges or unpleasant experiences as failures or setbacks, but the wisdom of this excerpt suggests that these moments are actually essential. Contrast produces desire. When you identify what you do not want, you simultaneously launch a powerful internal preference for what you do want. This process is automatic and does not requires a high level of stress or “hard work” to initiate. Just as the ancient ancestors of our planet contributed to the expansion of the universe simply by perceiving and concluding, you are doing the same every single day. You hold no greater responsibility than they did; your mere existence and your reactions to the world around you are enough to keep the universe expanding.

The most vital question we face is not whether we are doing enough, but rather, are we “letting it in?” We live in a reality that has been shaped by eons of asking and expanding, yet we often block ourselves from experiencing the benefits of that growth. By focusing too intently on what is missing or what hasn’t been “done” yet, we lose sight of the vast experience available in the here and now. The invitation here is to pivot our focus toward appreciation and allowing. When we align our focus with the bounty and the progress already achieved by the universe, we begin to reap the rewards of our own precious perspective.

One of the most liberating truths presented in this teaching is the notion that you will never truly “get it done” and you certainly cannot “get it wrong.” Because we are eternal beings, the finish line we are so desperately racing toward does not actually exist. There is no final destination where everything is completed and resolved forever, because the universe is in a constant state of becoming. This realization should act as a catalyst for us to lighten up. If there is no end to the journey, the logic of rushing loses its power. If we are eternal, then time is not a scarce resource to be managed, but a canvas upon which we can paint our experiences.

Ultimately, the call to action is to have more fun and embrace a sense of playfulness with life. Recognizing your eternal nature allows you to release the grip of anxiety and the fear of making mistakes. When you understand that you are a part of a much larger, self-expanding system that values your preferences and your presence, you can finally relax into the flow of life. There is no need to hurry when existence is forever. By shifting your perspective from one of struggle to one of eternal being, you open the door to a life filled with more ease, more joy, and a deeper connection to the expanding universe around you.

[Reference]:

The beasts that came before you, who banged around on this planet, denoted at cellular conscious and unconscious levels, their preferences. And that is how the atmosphere was prepared for you. They did not write one thing on their “things to do today” pads. They just be’d and perceived and concluded and asked vibrationally. And the Universe expanded as a result of their willingness to have exposure to the contrast. And you are not different from them. You have no greater responsibility than they did. The contrast produces the desire within you, and the Universe expands as a result of it. The only question is, the question that we want so much to answer is, are you letting it in? Are you letting yourself experience the benefit of your precious focus and your vast experience in the here and now? You’ll never get it done. You cannot get it wrong. So don’t you think it’s time for you to lighten up and start having more fun with all of this, and accept that you are Eternal Beings? And since you are Eternal Beings, then there’s no point in rushing, because there’s never going to be a time when you don’t exist.
