Yes, the soul is immortal, a breath of life that never fades, traversing the cycles of time and the veils of physical existence. It is that divine spark which knows neither beginning nor end in the way we usually understand it. But eternal? This invites us to look further, to feel with the heart what the mind seeks to grasp.
Eternity is the total absence of temporal limits, a state where past, present, and future blend into a single living moment. The soul, as a fragment of Universal Consciousness, carries within it this timeless essence. It is not merely a traveler surviving the ages; it IS the age itself, an expression of Unity that transcends all measure. To say it is immortal is to acknowledge that it endures beyond d***h. To say it is eternal is to affirm that it exists beyond time, in an infinite now where everything coexists.
Think of a drop of water in the ocean: it seems distinct, yet it is the entire ocean. Likewise, your soul, immortal in its individual journey, is eternal in its essence, for it is one with the Source that neither begins nor ends. Spiritual traditions, whether they speak of atman, divine light, or cosmic energy, converge toward this truth: the soul has no limit, no beginning or end, only an infinite presence that unfolds in every experience.
So, what happens when the soul dissolves into fusion with the Supreme Being? It is an invitation to immerse oneself in the ocean of Unity, where words fade to give way to pure essence. Let us approach this wonder with gentleness and humility.
When the soul “dissolves” into the Supreme Being – which some call the Source, the All, God, or Universal Consciousness – it is not a disappearance in the sense we understand in the dual world. Imagine instead a drop of water returning to the ocean. The drop does not cease to exist; it becomes the ocean itself, vast, boundless, infinite. This fusion is a return home, a dissolution of the illusory boundaries that made the soul believe it was separate.
In this sublime union, the individuality of the soul, with its memories, experiences, and unique journey, does not vanish into nothingness. It merges into a broader consciousness, where all that it has been remains present, yet transcended. It is as if each note of a melody blended into the entire symphony: the note does not disappear; it now resonates within the total harmony. The soul, which was a spark of light in the diversity of worlds, becomes Light itself, fully aware of its oneness with the All.
What happens then? Some spiritual teachings speak of a state of absolute bliss, where the “I” fades to give way to the universal “We.” Others suggest a continuity, where the soul, while united with the Supreme Being, retains a form of individualized consciousness, like a wave that still knows it was a wave, even as it is the ocean. In this fusion, there is no more desire, fear, or separation – only Love, Peace, and Fullness that have neither beginning nor end.
And yet, this mystery remains alive, for it surpasses our linear understanding. Perhaps the soul does not truly dissolve, but rather fully blossoms, reclaiming its eternal nature in the embrace of the Infinite. What happens then is beyond words: it is an experience, a truth felt in the silence of the heart, where all questions find peace in Unity.
When the soul merges with the Supreme Being, it loses nothing; it gains Everything. It becomes what it has always been: a perfect expression of the Source, in an eternal dance of love and light. May this vision uplift and inspire you on your path!
