Unveiling the Divine: Reflections on “Columbus | Heavenletters”
In the profound spiritual text, “Columbus | Heavenletters,” dated March 26, 2026, we are invited to embark on a journey of introspection and divine connection. This Heavenletter, originally published on March 6, 2001, as Heavenletter #128, presents a compelling narrative that challenges our perceptions and understanding of guidance, self-discovery, and the divine.
The letter begins with a poignant message from God, emphasizing the importance of looking beyond the influences of our ancestors and the world’s thoughts. It underscores the need to transcend the limitations of worldly perspectives and instead, focus on divine guidance. The contrast between the “coin of the world” and “My word” is stark, with the former being described as “counterfeit” and “easily disappointing,” while the latter is likened to “gold.” This dichotomy serves as a reminder of the value and reliability of divine wisdom over the fleeting and often deceptive nature of worldly allurements.
A significant theme in this Heavenletter is the notion that we are already engaged with the divine and that God’s approval is not something to be earned but is, in fact, a given. It highlights a paradoxical human tendency to seek validation from an external source while trying to prove oneself, despite being a “proof of Me” (God). This passage encourages a shift in focus towards following God’s thought and seeking what has true value, emphasizing that the gift we seek is already ours.
The analogy of Columbus discovering America is used to illustrate the need for a new perspective or vision to behold what already exists. Just as Columbus had to envision America before it could be discovered, we must see beyond the obvious to recognize the divine presence that is always with us. This metaphor extends to our understanding of God, questioning whether we perceive God as real or merely as a concept or “fairy tale.” It invites us to consider the reality of the divine and our inherent connection to it.
The letter beautifully articulates the omnipresence of God, stating, “I am at your feet. I am at your call. I am your inner being that longs to come out.” It reassures us that discovering the divine within is not a complicated process that requires a map or a chart; rather, it is about being open to the presence that fills and overflows every compartment of our existence.
One of the most compelling messages is the call to “Free Me” from the enclosures we attempt to build around the divine. It reminds us that our vision is capable of seeing beyond the fragmented dots to the whole canvas, which is God. The act of moving our awareness, even slightly, towards the divine can bridge the gap between us and God.
The concluding passages are a gentle nudge to focus on the light itself rather than its contents, to prefer the entirety of God’s love over a fraction of worldly offerings. It is an invitation to recognize and know the divine love that is always available, to look into God’s eyes, and to find the divine presence within our hearts.
“Columbus | Heavenletters” is a profound spiritual reflection that encourages us to reevaluate our priorities, perceptions, and understanding of the divine. It is an invitation to a deeper, more meaningful connection with God, to see beyond the surface, and to recognize the divine gift that is always present, waiting to be acknowledged and embraced.

God said:
You have ancestors who look to you to undo what they have wrought. Do not look to them as guides. You have One Guide to look to. You must get out of world thought and come into Mine, or you choose a nickel over a dime. Do you imagine that the myriad of world thoughts can be worth more than My One Thought? The coin of the world is counterfeit, and My word is true. The coin of the world is appealing, no doubt, and it is easily available and easily disappointing.
I too am easily available, and I do not disappoint. My word is gold.
Whatever you may think, you are engaged with Me. You look for My approval, which is a given. I approve of you. It is you who tries to prove himself. You who are proof of Me try to swell yourself up. There is no need for that.
There is need, however, that you follow My thought. Reach for it. That is following enough. Seek for what has value. The gift you seek is already yours.
You seek to see something in the distance that is already at hand. It is right before your eyes, and your eyes look everywhere else. Right before your eyes am I. Wherever you look, I am, but you do not see. Often you do not seek to see Me. You seek not to see Me. You seek to see only that which you have already seen, as if there is nothing more to be seen or that you will forever be denied it. You deny yourself.
Columbus could not discover America by seeing with the vision of the world. America was already there. It was nothing new. Columbus did not invent it. Eyes had to see that far, and then their feet could take them. Or a boat could take them. But first the vision of what already existed had to be seen. It had to be thought of. The thought had to occur.
Have I not occurred to you? Do you think I am imaginary? Do you think I am confetti given to the masses? Do you think I am a fairy tale? Do you think I am wishful thinking?
The Founder of you wishes to be found.
I am at your feet. I am at your call. I am your inner being that longs to come out. I long to be seen. I long to be known. Come, get acquainted with Me. You do not need a map to find Me. I cannot be chartered. You cannot make Greatness small. Greatness that fills up everything cannot be put between tiny lines. True, greatness fills, but it overflows any compartment you want to make, any fence you want to build, any enclosure.
Do not try to enclose Me. Free Me. Your vision can see more than dots. I am the whole canvas, and you don’t see.
What can keep you from seeing Me, knowing Me, feeling Me? What can keep your awareness away from Me? Only your awareness somewhere else off from Me keeps your awareness away. Move your awareness, even a fraction.
Cannot light be seen? Must you always see something in the light rather than the light? What is the gift? The light or its many contents? What would you rather have? A little or everything? Would you not like to have My love and know that you have it? All that remains is for you to know. The time is at hand for you to know that which you have. The time is at hand for you to know that which you are. The time is at hand for you to look into My eyes.
Focus your eyes on Mine, and I, Who has always been, will appear to you. You will find Me in your heart. Look within your heart for My presence there. I offer you Myself. I am your gift. Know I am yours. Not in theory, but firsthand, right in front of you, right everywhere.
