What Is the Divine to You? Rediscovering Oneness and Universal Love
In the quiet moments of reflection, many of us find ourselves asking profound questions about the nature of the universe and our place within it. One of the most enduring questions throughout human history is: What is the Divine to you? This isn’t just a theological inquiry; it is a personal exploration of our connection to the source of all existence. Drawing inspiration from the profound “Heavenletters,” we can explore a perspective that transcends dogma and moves toward a philosophy of pure, unconditional love and oneness.
Often, we become overly attached to the specific words, rituals, or scriptures used to describe a higher power. However, the true essence of spirituality lies not in the recitation of phrases, but in the experience behind them. Think of sacred words as an embrace—the words themselves are the “clasp,” but the feeling of safety, warmth, and unity is what truly matters.
When we stop focusing on the “how” of our spiritual practice and start focusing on the “is,” we begin to see that the Divine is not a distant judge, but a constant presence. Much like a father provides for a family, the connection goes far beyond mere provision. It is a fundamental state of being that exists whether we are consciously aware of it or not.
The relationship between the individual and the Divine is often described as a tapestry. In this metaphor, the Divine is both the weaver and the “warp and woof”—the very threads that make up the fabric of our lives. This suggests that we are not separate entities trying to reach a distant goal; rather, we are inherently part of the same structure.
Consider the metaphor of water. We use it to cool ourselves, to clean, and to sustain our bodies. Yet, water has a power and a nature that exists entirely independent of its service to us. Similarly, the Divine is our sustenance and our source, but also an indefinable force that encompasses everything from the stillness of the mountains to the movement of the stars.
One of the most beautiful aspects of spiritual exploration is the acceptance of paradox. The Divine is often described as “That Which travels and stays still”—an entity that resides in the highest heavens while simultaneously living within the human heart.
This duality reminds us that we don’t need to travel to a specific location to find peace or connection. If the Divine is “the Light of Heaven reflected in your eyes,” then every person we meet and every natural wonder we witness is a glimpse of that higher power. It is a puzzle where the Question and the Answer are one and the same.
If we are asked what the Divine is to us, our words may eventually fail. Language is a limited tool for describing the infinite. Instead, the most profound answer we can give is the way we live our lives.
The text reminds us that “Your life will be your answer.” When we live with kindness, when we act as vessels for love, and when we recognize the magnificence within ourselves and others, we are answering the call of the Divine. We were given the beauty of the world—flowers, children, the sun, and the moon—not just as gifts, but as evidence of a love that requires no proof, only participants.
The most transformative realization one can have is the shift in perspective regarding our own value. We often spend our lives wondering if we are “enough” or seeking validation from the world around us. Yet, the spiritual perspective offered here is simple: You are the Divine’s joy.
Knowing that you are a source of joy to the universe changes how you walk through the world. It removes the burden of “proving” your worth and allows you to simply be. By partaking in universal love and reflecting it back into the world, you fulfill your highest purpose. Your existence is not an accident; it is a celebrated part of a magnificent, unfolding Oneness.

God said:
Be not attached even to My words. It is not My words that you have to know or recite. It is the love and opportunity they give you that are to be known.
My words are like an embrace of love, My arms clasping you to My breast. It is not the clasp you have to know. It is not the embrace you have to know. It is the Oneness of Our love which encompasses beyond My embrace.
A father supports his children, but the father is much more than a provider. What is beyond his working to support his family?
In the same vein, it is not what I say to you or do for you. It is what I am to you, whether in your conscious awareness or not.
What am I to you? I am your Source. I am your Founder. I am your Finder. I am your sustenance. But what am I to you?
What magic do I weave when My words wash over you?
What is water to you? You splash in it. It cools you and refreshes you, but water has its power beyond its ministration to you.
So, what am I to you?
I am your Being. I am the Warp and Woof of you and the Weaver of you, but I am much more. I am your Voice and Harmonic Tones, and yet, what am I to you?
What am I, this indefinable God that is spoken of so much, so seriously and so lightly?
What am I to you?
Where and how do I exist and what makes Me so instrumental in your life? What is My domain, and What and Who am I? And What am I to you?
Words cannot tell it. I am beyond words and the story they tell.
I am That Which travels and stays still.
I am That Which roams and never wanders.
I am That Which has everything and yet seeks for you.
I am on high, and I am on Earth. My abode is in Heaven, and I reside in your heart.
I am a puzzle, but I am much more than a puzzle. I am the Question, and I am the Answer, and I am much more.
I am God Almighty, All powerful, All love, All kindness, All in All, All of All.
I am the light that surrounds you. I am the Light of Heaven reflected in your eyes.
I am unseen, and yet I am All.
I am the essential nature of you.
You catch a glimpse of Me, but you do not hold Me in your sight.
You move Me, even as I am immovable.
I am God Almighty.
There is no other power like Mine. There is no love like Mine. My love is My power, and it is also yours.
Partake of My love. It is contained in My words. My words reach out to you and pull you Heavenward, but it is not My words that pull you. It is My Magnificence that pulls the magnificence of you to Me.
I gave you everything so that you would know My love. Flowers, children, color, Human souls, sentient beings, sun and moon were not enough for you. You wanted My love proved. That which is proof itself needs no proof. It needs only lovers.
So be My love and answer true. Your life will be your answer to Me.
And I shall listen and watch while My love revolves the world.
What are you to Me? You are My joy. That is all you need to know.
